What is Dermaplaning?
This manual exfoliation technique involves gently scraping away dead cells and peach fuzz from the skin's surface to reveal a smooth and glowing complexion.
What are the Benefits?
-
Improved skin texture: Rough areas and fine lines will soften and the newly resurfaced skin will look and feel smoother than before.
-
Brighter complexion: This procedure helps minimize the appearance of acne scars, dark spots, and sun damage, leaving a radiant complexion and a more even skin tone.
-
Enhanced product absorption: Now that those dead cells are out of the way, your skincare serums and moisturizers will penetrate more deeply and work more effectively.
-
Better makeup application: Makeup will glide on smoothly and flawlessly.
- Stimulates collagen: Scraping away old cells results in new cell turnover, and a fresher, more youthful appearance.
What to do BEFORE & AFTER Dermaplane:
Dermaplaning temporarily removes the protective acid mantle from the epidermis, which can leave the skin more vulnerable. To avoid irritation or damage, follow these instructions:
- Pause the use of Retinol and any exfoliating serums, peels or face scrubs 1 WEEK BEFORE and AFTER your Dermaplane procedure.
- Avoid sun exposure and protect your skin with SPF 30 daily.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and moisturize twice a day.
FAQ:
Is Dermaplane dangerous, and will it give me nicks or cuts?
No cuts, nicks or injuries here! We use technologically advanced devices with Microfine Edges™ in our Dermaplane Procedures. At most, you may see mild redness after your procedure. Services at Best Face & Body are always provided by trained professionals committed to your comfort and safety.
How long does it last?
The hair removal effects are temporary. Your peach fuzz may return in 3-4 weeks. Dead cell build-up will begin to accumulate again, depending on factors such as your age, lifestyle, and skincare regimen. We recommend once or twice monthly facial treatments for best results.
Will the hair on my face grow back thicker?
No! Clinical studies have proven your hair will NOT grow back thicker or darker than it was before.
