Moisturizing your face may seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised at how many people don't even wash their face. The first step for proper hydration is proper cleansing. If you apply moisturizer to an unwashed face, you’re forming a protective barrier OVER dirt and sweat and trapping icky stuff into your pores. Don’t do that.
Of course, we recommend our two favorite cleansers, but we won’t get into the basics of face washing here, except to mention water temperature: Make it lukewarm. Too hot and you’ll dehydrate your skin. Too cold and you could rupture the tiny blood vessels on your face. We want our skin to behave but we don’t need to resort to torture.
So first comes cleansers, then comes toners, followed by serums (we’ll talk about those another day), and now it’s finally time to moisturize!
But wait...how do you even pick the right moisturizer?
